75 years of experience, 138 countries, 560+ villages — A proven family-centered child care model worldwide
Our Children's Homes Site project is the next generation application of the SOS Village model in Turkey.
The world's largest independent child protection organization
SOS Children's Villages began operating in Turkey in 1977. The first village was established in Istanbul Bolluca in 1988. Villages were opened in many cities over the years. As Turkey's social services system developed, SOS Turkey operations closed in 2011 — but this was not a failure of the model, but rather a sign that Turkey had developed its own model.
The "Children's Homes Campus" model currently implemented by Turkey's Ministry of Family and Social Services is directly inspired by the SOS Village model. 6-8 children per home, family environment, multiple homes on the same land — these standards overlap exactly.
💡 Our project is the new generation, private sector-supported implementation of the SOS Village model in Turkey. It is fully compliant with both international standards and the Turkish Ministry model.
